Working with others to move into sacred spaces is such a gift … I am loving having more of these opportunities to teach and preach, lead retreats and workshops, pray with persons in groups and one-with-one. If you are looking for someone to work with you in this way, I hope you’ll contact me. I’d love to hear from you.
A recent retreat participant shared her feedback directly with me, and gave me permission to share it with you. I hope it gives you a sense of the joy we shared.
Thank you for a wonderful retreat program. … [Y]ou put your unique stamp on it to make it excellent. The use of art in many forms was great. To elicit people’s creativity is not only a gift, but hard work. I found it amazing how you got [retreatants] to respond in using crafts and words, creating great “sculptures,” etc. The choice of Psalm 139 was so fitting, and I loved the songs, pictures, and words you used. … [T]hese are just some vague reflections on a weekend that made me extremely happy. I had not been in good health since the beginning of the year, but I came home refreshed in body and spirit, and that is not only due to sunshine, ocean air, and thirty-some women, but also to YOUR good work.
Feedback from the retreat evaluations including the following comments:
Enjoyed working with Tammerie. She kept us on task — no small task for such a big group, and she was well prepared.
Programs were a nice mix of structure and fluidity …. Tammerie was an excellent facilitator. Both thoughtful and fun.
Tammerie was a wonderful facilitator …. The sculpting exercise was very powerful. I liked the small breakout group on Saturday morning.
Loved how Tammerie had us focus on our past, present, and future experiences of God. I am so relaxed after this retreat. It was a very calming time.
A day-long retreat for another group brought these welcome comments:
THANK YOU … We were thrilled with how well the day turned out. Everyone really enjoyed it, it was so evident. I heard lots more compliments on Sunday as well. You were a big hit with our group … your style of presentation, your calming demeanor, everything you planned made for such a wonderful day. Thank you Thank you Thank you! I will be a regular reader of your blog from here on out … and am so glad to have met you, Tammerie!
Another comment came from a student in the Southern Conference’s Pastoral Leadership Development program, commenting on a class in Church History:
I enjoyed the sessions you lead this past weekend. The way you put us in the shoes of these people who have formed our faith was wonderful. I have always been very apprehensive of the “Church”; I have a bias that people bring about change in a grab for money and power. This weekend allowed me to see a more personal side, to dig into the faith of those early founders of our church. Refreshing and inspiring … thanks so much. I am really enjoying this class. Thank you for making it real for me!
Let me know if you’d like to speak to folks I’ve worked with … several have expressed willingness for these conversations.
